Rails 2.3 is released. Most significant feature for me is the Rack and Rails Metal, which provides a simple yet performance boost for providing services.
Here’s the release notes
I have gmail and ymail accounts. Overall, I like gmail more, which is the mail client I use daily. In terms of spam filters, I hardly get any spams in my gmail inbox, but quite a few daily in the ymail inbox.
Lately I have been experiencing interruptions on streaming video from Netflix Watching Instantly. The player often needs to pause for buffering up for more than a few minutes before playing video again. This occurs every a few minutes and i’t’s really annoying.
I’m using DSL and wireless AP at home. The streaming performance was very good in the past. There could be a few factors impacting the streaming: WiFi, ISP and Netflix.
I’m waiting to see if this is the case from other Netflix users. If so, I might discontinue the service as it’s really painful to watch a video with so many interruptions.
I have tested HQ video on youtube with good results. My DSL speed test result is pretty good too.
